Richard Truran

Richard Truran has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Richard is currently the VP Development at Purespring Therapeutics since February 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Gene Therapy Product Development at Biogen from June 2019 to February 2022.

Before joining Biogen, Richard held various positions at NIGHTSTAR THERAPEUTICS, starting as the Bioprocess/Manufacturing Manager from February 2016 to December 2016, and later transitioning to the role of Bioprocess & Manufacturing Director from January 2017 to June 2019.

Richard also has experience working at Lonza as a Senior Principal Scientist from January 2015 to January 2016, and as a Principal MSAT Scientist from April 2010 to December 2014. Additionally, Richard worked at Oxford BioMedica as a Principal Manufacturing Scientist from April 2004 to April 2010.

Earlier in their career, Richard worked as a PDA scientist at Patheon from October 2003 to April 2004, and as an Analytical Contracts Manager at KS Biomedix from April 2000 to September 2003.

Richard's work experience began at The Binding Site Group Ltd, where they worked as a Scientist from October 1996 to April 2000.

Richard Truran attended the University of Birmingham from 1993 to 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Medicinal Biochemistry.
