Jana Merrill

Jana Merrill, CPA, has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Jana is currently working as the Controller at Purvis Industries since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer at Tatum by Randstad from March 2022 to August 2022.

From 2019 to 2022, Jana held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Pecan Deluxe Candy Company, where they provided overall strategic and financial direction for the company, overseeing areas such as treasury, accounting, information technology, and financial planning. Before that, they were a Controller at Pecan Deluxe Candy Company from 2019 to 2020, where they implemented internal audits and controls and managed day-to-day activities related to accounts payable, cash disbursements, customer credits and collections, payroll, and more.

From 2017 to 2019, Jana worked as a Controller at Ultara Holdings, Inc., where they were responsible for overseeing financial decisions and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. Prior to that, they served as a Regional Controller at Leggett & Platt from 2014 to 2017, contributing to the financial management of a manufacturing operation.

Jana also has experience as a Director of Finance at GM Southwest, Inc. from 2011 to 2013, a Director of FP&A at Cunningham Lindsey in 2010, and a LOB Operational Finance Manager, Regional Operations Controller, and Divisional Operations Controller at ACS, A Xerox Company from 2001 to 2010.

Their career began at NCH in 1997, where they worked as an Accounting Manager, and they later served as an Accounting Group Supervisor at UT Southwestern from 1996 to 1997.

Throughout their work experience, Jana has demonstrated skills in financial management, accounting, strategic planning, and process improvement.

Jana Merrill, CPA, completed their education at Texas Tech University - Rawls College of Business, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting. Jana attended the university from 1984 to 1987. Prior to their university education, Jana Merrill attended Big Spring High School from 1980 to 1984. In addition to their educational background, they also obtained the certification of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Texas State Board of Public Accountants in September 1991.
