Robert Kelly is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Pusan National University, with expertise in international relations and a focus on Northeast Asian security. Kelly has contributed articles to several prominent publications, including a monthly essay for The Lowy Institute's blog, The Interpreter, and two op-eds each month for The National Interest. Previous contributions include writings for Newsweek and The Diplomat, as well as a role at The Economist Intelligence Unit. Kelly's academic background includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University and a B.A. in Political Science and History from Miami University.
