Phyllis Bresler began her career in Washington, D.C. in 1978 working for several prestigious trade associations and the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment before joining the marketing department at General Electric Information Services and later CENTEL, where she oversaw government bid and proposal activities. In 1990, she began consulting independently as a proposal manager and writer for many of the nation’s largest government contractors. Ms. Bresler self-funded the launch of PW Communications in 1996. Under her direction, the company's capabilities continue to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of clients and federal agencies.
Ms. Bresler is an active leader within the Metropolitan Washington, D.C., business community through her service on various boards and her philanthropic engagement in organizations that reflect her belief that all Americans, particularly the nation’s veterans, deserve equal access to educational resources and job opportunities.
Ms. Bresler is a guest lecturer on Entrepreneurship at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and serves on the Advisory Council of Children’s Hospital of Greater Washington and the Professional Writing Advisory Board of Northern Virginia Community College. She served on the Advisory Board of Revere Bank until its acquisition by Sandy Spring Bank in March 2020. She is a member of Business Executives for National Security and a sponsor of the Milken Institute’s Scholars Program.
Ms. Bresler and her husband, Sidney, support numerous charities through the Sidney M. & Phyllis O. Bresler Foundation, Inc., including Food & Friends, NYU Langone Health, The Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Children’s Hospital of Greater Washington.
Ms. Bresler earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from the Tuck-WBENC Executive Program sponsored by the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She is a three-time participant in the Jaguar R-series racing school and considers raising three well-rounded, talented children while working full-time her greatest accomplishment (with the help of her husband!).
