Asaf Kagan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities.
Asaf is currently the Vice President of bits at Q.ai, where they are leading the Algo and SW teams in building something innovative for the company.
Prior to this, Asaf worked at SAIPS as the Vice President of R&D from August 2019 to January 2023. Asaf also served as a Team Leader for the autonomous vehicle L4 team, a Senior computer vision and deep learning researcher for the autonomous vehicle L4 team, and a Team Leader for the Computer vision and anomaly detection team.
Asaf also had experience at Samsung Israel R&D Center - SIRC as a Senior machine learning and computer vision algorithm developer from December 2013 to November 2015.
Before that, they worked at XTR3D as an R&D team leader and a Senior Algorithm Developer from July 2012 to December 2013 and from January 2011 to July 2012, respectively.
Asaf's work experience also includes a role as a Product Manager at IDF from September 2009 to January 2011.
In the earlier stages of their career, Asaf was the Head of the signal processing and algorithm team at IDF. During this time, they led a team of signal processing engineers, physicists, and software developers. Asaf also conducted algorithm research and development for communication signals and various physical signals, and created a software infrastructure for automatic detection, classification, and estimation algorithms.
Additionally, Asaf worked as a Signal processing researcher and engineer at IDF, specializing in automatic detection, estimation, and classification algorithms for signal parameters. Asaf also developed blind synchronization and equalization algorithms for various modulations and created a software infrastructure for advanced signal processing and demodulation algorithms.
Overall, Asaf has had a robust career with expertise in various fields including machine learning, computer vision, algorithm development, signal processing, and team leadership.
Asaf Kagan completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2004. Asaf then pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University from 2007 to 2012.
