Pranav Mundada

Pranav Mundada, Ph.D., has a diverse range of work experience in the field of quantum technology and physics. Pranav has held several positions at Q-CTRL, including Lead Scientist in Quantum Integration, where they led a team in developing and integrating error mitigation tools and optimizing pulse optimization for two-qubit gates. Prior to that, they were a Senior Scientist at Q-CTRL, where they achieved significant improvements in the evaluation of quantum circuits.

Before joining Q-CTRL, Dr. Mundada worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Houck Lab in Princeton University, focusing on the design, fabrication, modeling, and control of protected qubit architectures. Pranav also gained experience in quantum control engineering as an intern at Q-CTRL, where they contributed to the development of optimal control solutions on superconducting circuits.

Dr. Mundada has also had previous internships and roles, including a quantum research summer internship at IBM, serving as a Treasurer at the Association of South Asians at Princeton (ASAP), and working as a Physicist at SciDogma Research. Pranav also has international experience as a research intern at TU Munich and as a Young Ambassador with DAAD.

In addition to their work experience, Dr. Mundada has demonstrated entrepreneurial skills as the founder and chief coordinator of Pravega, a website dedicated to promoting various initiatives.

Pranav Mundada, Ph.D. received their education in a variety of prestigious institutions. Pranav obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Electrical Engineering at Princeton University from 2016 to 2018. Before attending Princeton, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from 2015 to 2016. Pranav also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), which they completed from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, Pranav achieved a Grade 10 education at Don Bosco. Furthermore, they have obtained various certifications including the IBM Quantum Challenge 2021 Achievement - Advanced from IBM, Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn, and From the Big Bang to Dark Energy from Coursera. Pranav also holds an edX Honor Code Certificate for Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Computation.
