Haniam Maria is currently a Scientist R&D at QIAGEN since September 2021, following a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Research Foundation for SUNY from 2017 to August 2021, where research focused on the dual role of the DNA replication protein Orc1 in yeast. Haniam has experience in designing experiments, reporting findings through publications and presentations, and managing research funds. Prior to that, Haniam served as a Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at the University at Buffalo, teaching various biology courses and tutoring students. Haniam’s early career includes roles as a Lab Instructor and Media and Outreach Intern, as well as research assistant positions at North South University, contributing to research on Hepatitis B prevalence. Haniam holds a PhD and a Master's in Biological Sciences from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from North South University.
