Gavin Ashford is a dedicated researcher currently engaged in a project at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, focusing on the genetic aspects of depression and exploring drug-repurposing opportunities through bioinformatics and computational analysis. Gavin has previously served as a Residential Advisor at Monash Residential Services, providing support in various areas for a diverse community. As Treasurer of the Monash Biomed Society, financial management and oversight of club operations were key responsibilities. Additionally, Gavin has experience as a Biomedical Science Peer Mentor at Monash University, guiding first-year students, and has held roles such as a Laboratory Assistant at The Artisan Chemist and Creative Director for Jackomos Hall. Gavin began a career in retail and customer service at Montville Coffee Pty Ltd as a Retail Cashier, Barista, and Sales Specialist. Gavin holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and an Honours degree in Transcriptional Neurogenomics and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine at The University of Queensland.
