Andrew McCormick has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Andrew started their career at Racal Comms Systems Ltd as a Senior Engineer, where they worked with ANSI C for embedded applications. Andrew then joined Quantel Ltd and Opt-Tel Ltd as a Software Engineer.
In 1999, Andrew moved to Sony Semiconductor Europe as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they were responsible for software development and support for DVB tuner/demod/conditional access ICs. Andrew also managed projects and resources, as well as wrote embedded C drivers for reference designs.
From 2006 to 2011, Andrew worked at OpenTV as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in embedded C integration and on-site customer support on set-top box platforms.
Starting in 2011, Andrew joined Pace as a Principal Software Engineer and later became a Software Team Lead. Here, they led driver teams for Linux Set-Top Boxes, working with various middleware. Andrew also worked on BCM7335 and BCM7321 platforms, focusing on embedded C and C++ applications.
Since 2015, Andrew has worked as a Technical Consultant at Feabhas Limited, developing and delivering training courses in embedded Linux. Prior to that, they worked at ACCESS INTERFACING SOLUTIONS LIMITED as a Linux Software and Systems Engineer.
Most recently, Andrew joined QinetiQ in 2022, where they currently serve as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Team Lead.
Andrew McCormick attended Loughborough University from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, they studied at Queen Mary's College in Basingstoke from 1985 to 1987, and obtained B, B, A, and A grades in Maths, Physics, Electronics, and Chemistry respectively. Andrew completed their secondary education at Cranbourne School in Basingstoke from 1980 to 1985, achieving 10 'O' Levels including Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Technology, with a focus on French and German.
