Benjamin Smith

Benjamin Smith is a skilled engineer with extensive experience in photonics and materials engineering. Currently serving as a Photonic Integration & Test Engineer at QLM Technology Ltd since May 2023, Benjamin previously worked at Rockley Photonics Inc. as a Failure Analysis Engineer and Process Engineer in Silicon Photonics from September 2019 to April 2023. Prior to that, Benjamin held the position of Research Engineer at NSG Pilkington from October 2014 to September 2019, where significant contributions were made to the scale-up and process development of thin film semiconducting devices for photovoltaic applications. Additional experience includes a role as Temporary Research Officer at SPECIFIC IKC, focusing on the fabrication of various efficient solar cell designs. Benjamin holds an Engineering Doctorate (EngD/PhD) in Materials Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Swansea University.
