Riccardo Scotti is a Research Scientist at Quadram Institute since September 2019, focusing on clinical metagenomics and the development of technologies for diagnosing lower respiratory resistant-bacterial infections using nanopore sequencing. Prior to this, Riccardo served as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, leading projects on gut microbiome interactions and characterizing microbiota in sheep. Riccardo's earlier experience includes a Visiting Research Fellow position at the European Bioinformatics Institute, where a metagenomic study of compost microbiome was conducted, and multiple postdoctoral roles at the Consiglio per la Ricerca in agricoltura e l'analisi dell'economia agraria, focusing on soil fertility monitoring, RNAseq analysis of tomato plants, and molecular characterization of agricultural systems. Riccardo holds a PhD in Soil Microbiology and a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.
