Rik Haagmans is a highly skilled researcher with extensive experience in molecular and cellular sciences. Currently serving as a Research Scientist at Quadram Institute since January 2020, Rik has previously held roles as a Postgraduate Researcher and a Facility Service Provider at MijnStudent. Prior research experience includes a Literature Research Internship at Delft University of Technology, focusing on phage therapy development, and a Research Internship at AMOLF studying the regulation of molting cycle genes in C. elegans. At UMC Utrecht, Rik contributed to virology research as both a Research Intern and Analyst, setting up novel assays and exploring the degradation of HLA class I molecules by Human Cytomegalovirus. Rik holds a Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Utrecht University, along with a VWO diploma and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of East Anglia.
