Richard Gao has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Richard started their career as an engineer at Chrysler from 1995 to 2001. Richard then worked as a supply chain analyst at 3M from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, they volunteered at APICS as a member of the board of directors. From 2007 to 2008, they were a continuous improvement specialist at Cott Corporation, where they executed Lean Six Sigma projects. Richard then joined Avery Dennison as an Enterprise Lean Sigma Manager from 2008 to 2009. From 2009 to 2019, Richard worked at Houghton China, starting as a plant manager and new venture manager, and later becoming the sales operations director. Since August 2019, they have been a part of Quaker Houghton, initially serving as the Integration Management Office Leader for APAC and later taking on the role of Director of Commercial Operation. In these roles, they have been responsible for various initiatives and projects related to integration, operations, and commercial organization.
Richard Gao has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Machinery, obtained between 1991 and 1995. Richard also holds a Master's degree in Management from McGill University, completed between 2002 and 2004. Additionally, Richard has obtained certifications in CPIM, CSCP, Six Sigma Black Belt, and TTT from APICS, although the specific dates of achievement are not provided.
