Steven Gray

SVP, Connectivity & IoT Engineering at Qualcomm

Steven Gray is the SVP of Connectivity and IoT Engineering at Qualcomm. Steven has over 2000 engineers working under him globally, and is responsible for the design of System on a Chip (SoC) for wireless headsets, speakers, routers and consumer electronics. Steven has been with Qualcomm since August 2015, and in their current position since December 2020.

Previously, Gray was the Chief Technology Officer & SVP Engineering at CSR from December 2011 to August 2015. Steven was responsible for leading the entire Research and Development lifecycle for CSR products including hardware, embedded software and data center solutions. Steven was also responsible for product development execution, which they improved by approximately 25% through changes in product architecture leveraging IP building blocks used in multiple products and optimization of the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC).

Before joining CSR, Gray worked at Pivot Real Estate Investment where they were responsible for leading the engineering team and driving initiatives to improve engineering execution and reduce OPEX.

Steven Gray has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Steven Gray reports to James H. Thompson, EVP, Engineering Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Chief Technology Officer. They are on a team with Durga Malladi - SVP, Engineering, Ajay Malik - VP, Engineering, Wi-Fi, and Anthony Schwarz - SVP, Engineering.
