Ann Joyce has a long and varied work experience. Ann started their career in 1985 as a Reporter and Editor for City News Bureau. In 1987, they moved to the Yakima Herald-Republic as a Feature Editor. In 1989, they became a Public Relations Associate for Steve Dahl & Associates. In 1993, they worked as a Field Representative for Jay Inslee, Congressman. From 1994 to 2009, they worked for Associated Press as a Regional Election Coordinator and Director of the Spokane Data Center. During their time there, they nationalized AP election results reporting processes and procedures, decreasing errors and increasing efficiency. From 2009 to 2018, they worked for CU*NorthWest as Vice President of Operations, developing people and systems, departments and infrastructure to support a growing and profitable franchise-like data processing CUSO for credit unions. Finally, from 2016 to 2018, they were self-employed as a Business Analyst.

Ann Joyce completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Journalism from the University of Montana between 1981 and 1984. Prior to that, they attended the University of Saint Mary and completed undergraduate coursework with a concentration in English and economics between 1979 and 1981.
