Maxime Descampeaux

Research engineer in optics at Quandela

Maxime Descampeaux has a strong background in optics and research. Maxime is currently working as a Research Engineer in Optics at Quandela since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a PhD student at Thales from November 2019 to November 2022, where they focused on developing a resonant fiber optical gyroscope based on hollow core fiber. Maxime also gained research experience as a Research Assistant (internship) at Nokia Bell Labs in 2019 and at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique in 2018. Additionally, they completed a Production Workman Internship at IDHEA La Case aux Epices in 2017.

Maxime Descampeaux began their education in 2014 at Lycée Blaise Pascal de Colmar, where they pursued university-level education in maths, physics, and industrial technologies until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, they attended Grenoble INP - Phelma, earning a double degree in engineering and a Master of Physics in Photonics and Semi-conductors. In 2018, Maxime also studied at the University of Bristol under the School of Physics. Currently, they are enrolled at Université Paris-Saclay, where they are working towards a PhD in Optics and Photonics, with a focus on Physics.
