Jon Whetzel

CEO & Co-founder at Quantum Kingdom

Jon Whetzel is the CEO and co-founder of Quantum Kingdom, a game development studio based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jon has over fifteen years of experience in the game industry, having worked as a software developer, research assistant, and CTO for various companies.

Whetzel began their career as a software developer for Brundage Management Company in 2001. Jon then transitioned into the role of research assistant at Texas A&M University, where they studied the effect of using virtual teammates on learning a complex task. In 2005, they left academia to join Sandia National Laboratories, where they worked on developing video games for organizational psychologists.

In 2010, Whetzel co-founded PixelBot Laboratories with Peter Hague. The company released Quarry, a fast-action game of deception, in 2010 for XBox Live Indie Games and is currently working on new titles. In 2013, Whetzel left PixelBot to start Quantum Kingdom.

Jon Whetzel graduated with a Master of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the same school.
