Pete Fairbairn has over 12 years of work experience in various roles, primarily in the field of communications and public relations. Pete has held positions at organizations such as the Queensland Rugby Union (Queensland Reds) as the Head of Commercial, Guinness World Records as an Adjudicator, and Thrive PR + Communications as a Group Account Director (Sport). Pete also served as the Communications & Commercial Manager at the Rugby Union Players' Association (RUPA) and the Media Manager at the Melbourne Rebels. Additionally, Pete has experience as a PR & Events Manager, PR & Communications Coordinator, and a Public Relations Assistant at different companies.

Pete Fairbairn pursued their education starting from 1995 to 2002 at The Scots PGC College in Warwick, QLD, where they completed high school. Pete then attended St. Andrews College in Christchurch from 2002 to 2004 for their high school education as well. Pete subsequently enrolled at the University of Canterbury from 2006 to 2008, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and American Studies. In 2018, they also completed a Leadership Course at the Centre for Continuing Education.
