John Hakes

John Hakes, CPA, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in tax and auditing. Since January 2020, John has served as a Tax Expert at Intuit, and has been a Field Representative at the U.S. Census Bureau since May 2017, focusing on the American Community Survey and additional income and housing surveys. John's background includes scoring essays and exams for Questar Assessment Inc. as a seasonal scorer since April 2014, and contributing to multiple electoral campaigns and efforts from 2010 to 2016. Notably, John was a Senior Auditor for the State of Minnesota from 1999 to 2009, where responsibilities included conducting financial control audits and compliance assessments. John holds a Master’s Degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership from the University of Minnesota Duluth, a BA in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota, and a BS in Accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
