Andreas Hartel

Andreas Hartel is an accomplished scientist with expertise in cell and developmental biology, membrane biophysics, and protein biochemistry. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Quicksilver Biosciences since April 2023, Andreas Hartel is focused on developing next-generation molecular diagnostic tools utilizing CMOS biosensors. Previously, Andreas Hartel held the position of Adjunct Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University since March 2014, working on projects that explore the effects of ultrasound on ion channel gating and leading interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance recording techniques for ion-channel proteins. Prior roles include Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University and Postdoctoral Research Associate, contributing to projects that integrate artificial membrane systems with electronics. Andreas Hartel earned a PhD from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and a Master's degree from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
