Kristen Schlapp has a diverse work experience in the education and workforce development field. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as an ESL Teacher and GED Tutor at Jane Addams Resource Corporation. Kristen then joined JVS Boston in 2010, where they held various roles including Lead Instructor & Curriculum Designer and Manager of Workplace Education. In these positions, they developed and implemented contextualized curriculum, mentored instructors, and oversaw program operations. Since 2017, Kristen has been working at Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc., initially as the Program Director for Adult Education & Workforce Development, and currently as the Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they have been responsible for developing and implementing high-quality programs, building partnerships with local organizations, and providing integrative services. Overall, Kristen's work experience demonstrates their expertise in program development, curriculum design, and workforce development initiatives.
Kristen Schlapp completed their Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics from UMass Boston, from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Maine at Farmington between 2003 and 2007. In 2006, they also studied Spanish Language & Culture at Universidad de Salamanca. Additionally, Kristen obtained certifications in TABE CLAS-E Consolidated Reading & Writing Administration Assessment in 2015 and BEST Plus in 2010.
