Ana Lucía Escobar Velásquez has held various roles in the fields of education, research, and sustainability over the past decade. Ana Lucía began their career in 2012 as an Investigadora and Coordinadora Regional for the Universidad Tecnológica Juan de la Cierva (UT JJC) in a study on cultural impacts and communicative strategies of national radio in three regions of Colombia. In 2013, they joined Integral S.A. as a Socióloga in the area of environmental management, working on mining, road, and hydroelectric projects. From 2015 to 2018, they held two positions at Manpower and Tigo Colombia, respectively, as an Especialista en Sostenibilidad. During this time, they developed more than 25 partnerships with government entities, private companies, foundations, and multilateral organizations to promote responsible and creative use of the internet. In 2016, they joined the Universidad EAFIT as an Investigadora and Coordinadora Técnica for a project on the risks and potential of information and communication technologies. Ana Lucía was also a Docente de Cátedra at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana - Colombia in 2019. In 2021, they began their current role as Partnerships Lead and Coordinadora Territorial at Quipu Bank.
Ana Lucía Escobar Velásquez obtained a Socióloga degree from the Universidad de Antioquia between 2006 and 2012, with a field of study in Sociologia. In 2016, they completed their Maestría en Sostenibilidad from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, with a field of study in Estudios de sostenibilidad. In 2015, they obtained a Certificado de Código de Honor de edX para el curso Liderando el Desarrollo Sostenible de las Ciudades from edX. In 2021, they obtained a RECONOCIMIENTO COMPROMISO DOCENTE 2021 from the Universidad EAFIT.
