Joe Kuster

Joe Kuster has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Joe started their career as an IT professional, working as a Senior Technical Trainer at Missouri State University and managing IT projects at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Joe also operated their own freelance technology consulting service, specializing in Microsoft ASP website development and database administration.

In 2003, Joe ventured into entrepreneurship and founded Slackline Express, turning it into a successful business with global impact. During this time, they managed all aspects of the company, including sales, finances, accounting, and investment portfolios.

Joe later transitioned back into the IT industry, joining Catapult Systems as the Director of Security & Compliance Solutions and later as the Director of the Security Office. Joe was responsible for incorporating security best practices, managing IT security risks, and building compliance/regulatory alignment. Joe also worked as an Enterprise Mobility & Security Evangelist, leading sales and implementation efforts for Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security projects.

In 2013, Joe joined Quisitive as the Director of the Security Office, where they continued to drive the strategic vision for security practices and oversee compliance and regulatory alignment.

Apart from their IT career, Joe pursued their passion for writing and became a published author of six science fiction and fantasy books.

Joe Kuster obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Missouri State University from 1999 to 2003. In 2011, Joe attended Ameriteach for a SharePoint Bootcamp and Global Knowledge for System Center Configuration Manager Deployment and Administration. Joe also obtained various certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in 2019, MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional in 2012, MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010, MCTS: SharePoint 2010, Configuration, MCITP - Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Administration, and MCTS - Technical Specialist for SharePoint 2010 Configuring, all in 2011.
