Brian Lucas

Brian Lucas is a Staff Software Engineer at Quorum, specializing in Generative AI for legislative analysis and data processing since August 2019. Key achievements include engineering a sophisticated Agentic AI system, designing efficient cloud-native data pipelines, and architecting a scalable hybrid search system for millions of documents. Previously, as an Engineering Manager, Brian reduced system-wide p99 latency significantly and led a team of software engineers focused on legislative data. Prior experience at Heart Imaging Technologies involved developing high-performance APIs and advancing medical imaging software, highlighted by a remarkable increase in throughput for HL7 messaging services. Brian holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Salisbury University.
