Zachary Thomas has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC systems. Zachary started their career in 2013 as a Mechanical Design Engineer/Co-op at ATLANTIC HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING, where they were responsible for producing 2D drawings, preparing refrigeration/cooling systems schematics, and managing load calculations.
In 2016, Zachary joined Lake HVAC as a Lead HVAC Duct & Pipe Coordinator. In this role, they prepared shop/fabrication drawings, provided accurate duct & pipe hanger drawings, attended meetings to review clashes with other trades, and collaborated with project managers for accurate submittals.
From 2018 to 2020, Zachary worked at J.C. Cannistraro, LLC as an HVAC Pipe Coordinator/APM. Here, they worked closely with project leads to ensure deadlines were met, visited job sites to gain field production insight, and generated detail schematic drawings for design team review.
Currently, Zachary is working as a Mechanical Engineer at Vanderweil Engineers, starting in 2021.
Zachary Thomas completed their education at the Wentworth Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2015, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology. In addition to their degree, Zachary has acquired several certifications over the years. In April 2020, they received OSHA 30 HR Training from ClickSafety. In April 2018, they attended the Trane Air Conditioning Clinic, and in April 2017, they completed the Trimble Field Points certification provided by Microdesk. Zachary'searliest certification, the Wrightsoft HVAC Design Training Course, was obtained in March 2014, although the institution is not specified.
