Rajeev Newar

Rajeev Newar is the Group CFO at R K SWAMY BBDO. Prior to this, they spent 13 years at The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), where they served as Vice President Finance and Board member in Subsidiaries.

During their time at IHCL, Rajeev was responsible for all Board, Shareholder and Listing Compliances. Rajeev also managed investor relations and reporting, as well as functional reporting and Compliances. Rajeev was instrumental in implementing the Finance & Tax Strategy, and led the migration from Service Tax to GST and IGAAP to IND-AS globally across the Taj Group. Rajeev facilitated resolution of various tax litigations in favor of the company.

In addition, Rajeev played a lead role in various M&A & Treasury initiatives to drive synergies and deleverage the Balance Sheet. Rajeev also oversaw cashflow management and receivables management, which was optimized through an internal shared service arrangement.

Rajeev partnered with the Sales and Marketing team to enable them to take informed decisions on Brand Architecture, Developing a new Website and relaunching a Loyalty Program with an improved customer value proposition. Rajeev also leveraged Technology to develop an accounting architecture on Oracle to improve the accounting cycle time and enabled business decision making process.

Rajeev Newar has pursued a career in finance and accounting, corporate law, and commerce and finance. Rajeev has a degree in chartered accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and a degree in company law from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Rajeev also has a bachelor's degree in commerce and finance from Calcutta University, Kolkata. In addition, they have completed executive leadership programs at the Indian School of Business, Cornell University, School of Inspired Leadership, and TMTC. Rajeev also has a degree in strategic leadership for top management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
