Abigail Schmitz

Abigail Lauterbach Schmitz is a Healthcare Associate at RA Capital Management, where responsibilities include identifying emerging therapeutics across multiple disease indications. Previously, Abigail completed a Ph.D. at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, focusing on engineering protein-based therapeutics for tissue regeneration. Additional experience includes roles as a Venture Fellow at Portal Innovations, a Biotechnology Analyst at Aspire Capital Partners, and a Polsky Science Innovation Fellow at the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago. Abigail also served as a PME Venture Fellow and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Alabama Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Early experience includes an Industrial Biosciences Internship at DuPont. Abigail holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama and is expected to complete the Ph.D. program in June 2024.
