Cheuk Lau has over 25 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Cheuk started their career in 1994 as a Technical Consultant at JBA Canada (now part of Infor), where they worked until 1999. Cheuk then joined Ironside Technologies Inc. as a Senior Developer/Project Lead, participating in requirement analysis and transforming storyboards into technical specifications. In 2001, Cheuk Lau joined DataGenix Inc. as a Technical Consultant/Senior Developer, designing and delivering new products and communicating user requirements. In 2006, they joined World Vision Canada as a Business Systems Analyst, performing the dual role of Project Manager/Business Systems Analyst. During this time, they also served as a Senior Developer, designing, developing, and supporting homegrown systems. Cheuk Lau then moved on to Interac Association in 2011, where they worked as a Senior Business Analyst, responsible for designing and implementing Interac products in both waterfall and agile environments. Currently, they are employed at Aspira as a Senior Business Analyst.
Cheuk Lau has a B. Sc. degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Specialized Honours from York University. In addition to their degree, Cheuk Lau has obtained several certifications. In June 2013, they became a Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP) through the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). In January 2015, they obtained the ITIL v3 Foundation certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Furthermore, they received certifications in ITIL Release, Control and Validation from AXELOS Global Best Practice in April 2015, and Lean Operational Excellence for Service Organizations from the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC) also in April 2015.
