Jason King has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Jason started their career in 1998 as a System and Network Administrator at Twister Communications Network, Inc. where they were responsible for Sun and Linux machines, IP network, DNS, DHCP, Sendmail, NIS, RADIUS, and Samba administration, as well as maintaining all network switches, routers, and RAS devices. Jason also served as the project lead for the implementation of their telephony network management and provisioning system as well as their billing platform. In 1999, they worked as a Consultant for Inteliant and as a Senior Systems Administrator for Sprint-Nextel. At Inteliant, they were in charge of system administration of most of Sprint PCS' mission critical Solaris and HP/UX systems, including all but one of the revenue generating systems within IT at the time. At Sprint-Nextel, they served as a technical lead for a group responsible for over 1,000 Solaris systems in Sprint' IT data centers and was able to save the company over $1 million in hardware purchase costs. In 2007, they worked as a UNIX Administrator for JP Morgan Chase, Inc. where they were a member of a global infrastructure team supporting trading systems for energy, foreign exchange, and commodities on systems running Solaris with Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) as well as RedHat Linux. In 2008, they worked as a UNIX Consultant for Inceed. In this role, they were in charge of the administration of Swift's UNIX servers as well as their enterprise storage and was able to consolidate multiple systems using Solaris Zones, reducing maintenance and database licensing costs. From 2009 to 2017, they worked as a UNIX Administrator for Swift Energy Company. In this role, they maintained their ERP systems and NetApp enterprise storage, transitioned the maintenance of their corporate firewall administration from an outsourced provider, and secured Swift's SCADA systems by migrating them to site-to-site VPNs. Since 2021, they have been working as a Consulting Engineer for RackTop Systems.
Jason King obtained their B.S. in Computer Engineering from The University of Kansas between 2000 and 2002. In 2016, they also obtained a NetApp Certified Data Administrator certification from NetApp.
