Sander Bervoets has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and genetics. Sander currently serves as the Coordinator Bioinformatics at the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (RIMLS), where they foster the Radboud Bioinformatics community, forges partnerships, and manages resources for bioinformatics solutions in biomedical research. Sander is also the Lead Product Owner Research Applications at Radboudumc, responsible for overseeing research application products. In 2017, Sander founded BioCentric, a company aimed at reviving biology-focused DNA and Genetics research. Sander has also worked as an advisor at Decoding Superhuman and as an Associate Scientist Bioinformatics and Lab Automation at DSM. Sander's earlier experiences include roles as a Bioinformatics Analyst at ServiceXS, a Bioinformatician/Intern at Humboldt University of Berlin, and an Intern at LUMC and Erasmus MC. In addition to their professional experience, Sander has published research papers and has proficiency in various programming languages and data analysis techniques.
Sander Bervoets completed a RLL25 Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Radboudumc between 2020 and 2022. Sander also participated in a Startup course at PLNT Leiden in 2017 and 2018. Sander holds a M.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a ing./B.A.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics from Hogeschool Leiden between 2003 and 2008.
