Rj Ellis

RJ Ellis, PhD has held various roles throughout their career. They began as a Research Fellow in Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where they authored two open-source toolboxes for exploratory data analyses of 3-D brain images. They then moved on to the National University of Singapore as a Research Fellow in Computer Science, where they proposed a method to quantify word choice novelty in pop song lyrics and created an open-access database of 275,000 lyrics. They also conceptualized and published a pilot clinical trial for a mobile app called "SmartMOVE" that provides gait analytics for patients with Parkinson's disease.

Following that, RJ worked at Omada Health as a Behavioral Researcher & Designer, providing expertise on health behavior change and co-authoring a peer-reviewed journal paper on the outcomes of Omada's digital behavior change program. They then joined Insight Data Science as a Fellow, where they built a web app for estimated-time-of-arrival predictions for medical first responders.

RJ's next position was at Livongo as a Clinical Product Data Scientist, where they were responsible for internal projects related to continuous glucose monitoring and validation of self-reported health traits. They eventually became a Senior Data Scientist at Livongo, leading data science projects for continuous glucose monitoring and other initiatives.

Most recently, RJ served as the Manager of Data Science at Teladoc Health, overseeing the Connected Devices Data Science team. They deployed a daily pipeline for anomaly detection in remote patient monitoring data and developed a secure web portal for designing coaching interventions.

Currently, RJ is the Director of Data Science at RadiantGraph.

RJ Ellis, PhD, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware. They then pursued further education at The Ohio State University, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in Experimental Psychology. It was at the same institution that they obtained their PhD in Experimental Psychology.
