Parisa Zamanian

Parisa Zamanian has a diverse range of work experience. Parisa is currently working at the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa as a Youth Program Manager & Bilingual Associate Clinician, where they have been employed since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Bilingual Associate Clinician at the same organization starting from August 2020. Parisa also worked as a Retirement Center Program Coordinator at the University of California, Berkeley from February 2020 to August 2020. Before that, they served as an MSW Intern at Queer LifeSpace from August 2019 to August 2020, providing psychotherapy and treatment planning for LGBTQ+ clients and facilitating therapeutic support groups. Parisa was a student at UC Berkeley Social Welfare from August 2018 to August 2020. Parisa also worked as a Program Coordinator at the Aspire Education Project from September 2018 to August 2019, where they were responsible for recruiting and coordinating services with tutors, program partners, and families. Additionally, Parisa gained experience as a Mental Health Intern at Albany High School from September 2018 to June 2019, where they provided therapy and co-facilitated therapy groups. Parisa started their professional career at College Track in September 2015, serving as a Student Life Manager and being involved in program planning, workshop facilitation, and student support. Parisa also worked as a Barista at Philz Coffee from March 2015 to August 2016. Parisa participated in the Public Allies AmeriCorps program from August 2015 to July 2016, completing an apprenticeship, leading a team service project, and engaging in leadership and professional development. Parisa's early work experience includes being a Summer Camp Counselor at Castilleja School from June 2011 to August 2014.

Parisa Zamanian has a diverse educational background. In 2013, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Ethnic, Cultural Minority, Gender, and Group Studies from Sarah Lawrence College. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Women's History at the same college, which they completed in 2014. In 2018, Parisa enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2020. Parisa also briefly studied at the University of Havana in 2011, though it is unclear whether they obtained a degree or pursued a specific field of study during their time there.
