Alan Barbagelata El-Assad

Alan Barbagelata El-Assad is a skilled engineer with extensive experience in process technology and innovation, particularly in the energy transition sector. Currently serving as the Process Technology & Intellectual Property Manager at Raízen, Alan leads efforts in developing new technologies, focusing on second-generation ethanol, biofuels, and bio-based chemicals. Prior to this role, Alan held various positions at Braskem, including Project Leader for the Bioglycols project and Renewable Technologies Engineer, emphasizing bio-based project development and techno-economic evaluations. Earlier engineering roles were undertaken at Chemtech and Merck KGaA, alongside academic achievements in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and specialized education in Petrochemical Process Engineering.
