James Harvey

James Harvey is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in leading development teams and projects. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Rakuten since July 2016, James previously held the position of Senior Development Lead at Microsoft from September 2010 to October 2013, and has managed software engineering teams at Yahoo from May 2003 to August 2010. Early career roles included Software Engineer positions at Yahoo, Inktomi, and Digital Garage/Infoseek Japan, as well as a Coordinator for International Relations and Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) (JET). James began their career as an Analyst at Birinyi Associates Inc. James holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Religion from Bowdoin College and is a graduate of Iona Preparatory School.
