Timothy Warrington

Data Scientist/Curator at Rancho BioSciences

Timothy Warrington has a varied work experience starting from their role as a Sales Clerk at Scottish Imports Inc in 2002. Timothy then worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Technician at the University of Alberta from 2005 to 2009. Timothy later joined the Canadian Centre for DNA Diagnostics as a Primer Design Specialist from March to December 2010. In 2011, they began their PhD candidacy at Simon Fraser University, where they conducted laboratory experiments, communicated results, and worked both independently and as part of a lab group. From 2016 to 2019, Timothy worked as a Research Scientist at FREDsense Technologies, where they designed and performed experiments and created an automated data analysis platform. Timothy then joined Rancho BioSciences in 2019 as a Data Scientist/Curator, compiling data from clinical trial reports, writing scripts to automate curation tasks, and managing other team members. Timothy's most recent role is as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Clockwork Biotech, which they started in January 2022.

Timothy Warrington has a solid educational background in the field of molecular genetics. Timothy completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Alberta in 2005. Following that, they pursued a Masters of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the same university, which they completed in 2010. Timothy further advanced their studies at Simon Fraser University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Genetics and Bioinformatics in 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Timothy has also pursued various certifications to supplement their skills and knowledge. Timothy completed the "Tableau 2020 A-Z: Hands-On Tableau Training for Data Science" and "The Complete SQL Bootcamp 2020: Go from Zero to Hero" courses from Udemy in September 2020. Earlier, in August 2018, they completed the "Introduction to Genomic Data Science" and "Quantitative Biology Workshop" programs from edX. These certifications showcase their commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and practices in their field.
