Head: Integrated Marketing at Rand Merchant Bank

Marc Ashwell has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marc began their career in 2001 as the Founder and Owner of Neophile Digital Solutions, where they focused on web development and design. In 2004, they joined Tenaka as an Interaction Designer, quickly taking on client responsibilities and developing a passion for strategy. At Tenaka, they also served as a Digital Director, overseeing strategy, process optimization, and client management.

In 2006, Marc joined Stonewall+ as a Strategist/Project Manager before founding Jozi Images in 2002, a South African image library. Marc later became the Marketing and Sales Manager at WorldsView, where they gained experience in marketing and sales. Subsequently, they joined Aqua Agency in 2012, initially as a Senior Strategist before being promoted to Head of Strategy, leading a team of marketing and communications strategists.

In 2017, Marc joined Mindshare as a Digital Director, working closely with the executive leadership team to develop digital media offerings and lead the digital transformation of clients. In 2018, they became the Head of Strategy at TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris\Johannesburg, where they developed the team and offerings, fostered relationships with C-level clients and agency leadership, and won pitches for clients such as DStv Africa.

Most recently, Marc joined Rand Merchant Bank in 2018 as the Head of Digital Marketing, responsible for driving marketing strategy and facilitating digital marketing transformation. Marc currently holds the position of Head: Integrated Marketing, overseeing marketing effectiveness and leading digital marketing initiatives.

Marc Ashwell's education history includes the following:

- In 1996-1997, they obtained a High School Diploma from Sisekelo High School.

- In 1999-2001, they earned a National Diploma in Graphic Design from Inscape.
