Christopher Smith

Christopher Smith is a seasoned CFD Team Manager at Rand Worldwide since January 2020, leading a team of consulting engineers in executing projects utilizing ANSYS products across diverse applications, including biomedical devices and HVAC system optimization. Prior to this role, Christopher served as a CFD Specialist, where responsibilities included client communications, project management, and technical consulting on various complex projects. Christopher's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where research and dissertation work were finalized from July 2012 to January 2023, and experience as a University Research Assistant, contributing to significant projects related to design and analysis for industry partners. Additionally, Christopher held the position of President for a student group at the University of Minnesota, managing budget and event coordination, and began a career as a Calibration and Assembly Technician at Futurestar Corp, focusing on precision flow rate valves.
