David Sands

David Sands has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. David is currently working as an Electrical Engineer at Range Energy since 2022. Previously, they were the Owner of SNADS METAL WORKS from 2005 onwards, where they focused on creating affordable and aesthetically pleasing hand-forged iron and steel designs.

In 2022, David also worked as an Electrical Engineer at a stealth tech startup and as a System Engineer at an EcoTech startup in stealth mode.

Prior to that, they held the position of Sr. Powertrain Engineer at Zoox from 2017 to 2022.

David also has a significant tenure at Tesla, where they started as an Electronics Engineer in 2009 and later became a Manager. During their time at Tesla, they managed a team of engineering technicians and was responsible for various battery engineering projects and prototypes.

Before Tesla, David worked as an Electronics Engineer at TELEMARK from 2006 to 2009, where they focused on developing power supplies and magnetic controls for electron beam deposition sources.

Furthermore, they have a long history at SRI International, where they worked as a Research Engineer from 1983 to 2006. In this role, they specialized in electronics design, calibration, and maintenance, particularly in the field of sensor and MEMS device development.

David Sands attended the University of Rhode Island from 1977 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics.
