Jimmy Cancilla

Jimmy Cancilla has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Jimmy started their career at IBM Canada Ltd., where they worked as a DB2 Quality Assurance Analyst from 2007 to 2009. Jimmy then transitioned to the role of Software Analyst from 2009 to 2012. From 2012 to 2017, they served as a Software Developer at IBM.

In 2017, Jimmy joined Rapid7, a cybersecurity company, as a Lead Software Engineer. Jimmy held this position until September 2020. After that, they were promoted to Manager, Engineering (Scanning & Assessment) in October 2020, and they continue to work in this role.

Jimmy Cancilla obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Computer Engineering from Ryerson University, where they studied from 2003 to 2009. Jimmy has also earned certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in January 2023 and Licensed Professional Engineer from Professional Engineers Ontario in April 2013. Furthermore, Jimmy is currently pursuing a Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and Digital Forensics Certification at Toronto Metropolitan University. Jimmy has also completed certifications in AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS), although the specific dates of completion are not provided.
