Moustafa Ismael has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Their most recent position was as a Lead Software Engineer at Rapid7, starting in March 2020. Prior to that, they founded CopyCattr in 2019, a platform aimed at assisting users in making informed decisions regarding cryptocurrencies.
Before entering the cryptocurrency industry, Moustafa worked at WireWheel.io as an Application Developer from July 2018 to October 2019. In this role, they focused on improving user interface consistency using Vue, Node, and Mongo with an emphasis on privacy protection.
From 2016 to 2018, Moustafa participated as a Javascript Developer at Nectar Financial AG, collaborating with a team to create a platform for financial experts and fund managers. Moustafa gained experience in agile development and demonstrated the ability to adapt to new approaches.
Prior to that, Moustafa worked as a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Digital Interactive from February 2014 to July 2016. In this position, they contributed to the development of an analytics platform and designed a service portal prototype. Moustafa also co-designed an Analytics Library prototype using ReactJS.
Starting their career as a Junior Software Developer at SAIC from April 2012 to February 2014, Moustafa took charge of developing a mobile web version of an existing application, demonstrating their skills in UI design and framework selection.
As a Software Development Intern at CSC from April 2010 to June 2011, Moustafa gained experience in system regression testing and automated testing using Selenium. Moustafa also worked with developers to create business rules for backend error checking.
Moustafa began their software development journey in a student research project at George Mason University in 2008, where they designed and implemented a Java Web-Applet for scheduling classes, created the Software Requirements Specification and UML design diagrams, and maintained the project website using HTML and CSS.
