Mark Puckett has held a number of positions in the IT security field since 1992. Mark began their career as IT Manager at Georgia State University, followed by Security Operations Manager at NetEffect Corporation in 1999. In 2000, they became Enterprise Architect, IT Security at Nortel Networks, where they designed and built security infrastructures for customers. In 2001, they moved to GE Power as Network Security Leader, responsible for network security design, processes, and policies at GE Energy and GE Aviation. In 2008, they became CEO of Professional Linguistics, an operator of a translation and interpretation business servicing courts, insurance, medical, and corporate clients. In 2009, they took on the role of Manager, IT Security Red Team at The Home Depot, where they were responsible for security approval on all new initiatives within the company, reviewing audit findings, driving vulnerability remediation, and more. In 2011, they founded and became CEO of Raxis, an elite team of professionals that challenge and assess corporate cybersecurity defenses. Finally, in 2021, they became President of Puckett5 Holdings.
Mark Puckett obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University - J. Mack Robinson College of Business between 1992 and 1996. In addition, they obtained a Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in July 2003, an Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP) from ISACA in 2003, and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2 in January 2001.
