Kira Rundel, Ph.D. has held various positions in the field of science and engineering since 2009. Kira began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Arizona in 2009. In 2013, they became an Undergraduate Research Assistant and an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the same institution. In 2015, they were an SULI Intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. From 2016 to 2017, they were a Demonstrator and Graduate Student Representative at Monash University, a Guest Researcher at Berkeley Lab, and a Student Representative and Student at the 1st AOF Synchrotron Radiation School at the Australian Synchrotron. In 2020, they were an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. In 2021, they became Commercial Manager at RayGen.

Kira Rundel, Ph.D. obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Arizona between 2011 and 2015. Kira then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering from Monash University, which they completed in July 2019. In August 2022, they obtained a Leading Edge Program certification from Women & Leadership Australia (WLA).
