Michael Maratheftis

Michael Maratheftis has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael started their career as a Sergeant in the National Guard of Cyprus from June 1992 to August 1994. Michael then worked as a Corporate Finance Officer at MarkeTrends Capital Markets Ltd from December 1998 to December 2000. Michael was later promoted to Head of Corporate Finance & Public Relations at MarkeTrends Financial Services Ltd, where they supervised a team and also handled public and media relations.

In 2002, Michael joined the Louis Group as the Group Communication Director. In this role, they oversaw press and media relations in multiple markets, acted as the official spokesperson, managed crisis communications, and handled internal communications.

Michael then joined RCB BANK LTD in 2015 as the VP of Press Office & Media Communications, responsible for managing press relations and media communications. In 2017, they were appointed as the Director General at Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation and served in this role until January 2020.

Currently, Michael is working at RCB BANK LTD as the Deputy CEO, a position they have held since January 2020.

Michael Maratheftis completed their education at several institutions. Michael obtained a Master's degree in International Business Management from the University of Westminster in 1998. Before that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Banking from Bangor University, graduating in 1997. Michael'ssecondary education at a boarding school involved studying a diverse range of subjects, such as Economics, Italian Literature, English Literature, Biology, Mathematics, and Modern Greek. These studies were completed from 1990 to 1992, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma.
