Annette Schatz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Annette started their career as an Associate Buyer at maurices in 1996 and later became a Buyer at Lane Bryant in 1998. In 2003, they worked as a Buyer at Target, and then transitioned to a role as VP of Licensing at ASSOLUTO, Inc. from 2004 to 2006. Annette joined BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP in 2006 as the Senior Vice President, responsible for Merchandising, Product Development, and Design until 2011. Annette then served as the EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer at Gloria Jeans in 2012 before returning to BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP as the President of Global Brands and Global Wholesale Sales & Distributors from 2013 to 2017. Annette joined Xcel Brands, Inc. in 2018 as the President and Chief Merchandising Officer until 2021. In 2016, they co-founded ReachTV and also served as an investor and strategic advisor. Currently, Annette is a Consultant and Strategic Advisor at GoDigital Media Group.
Annette Schatz pursued their education with a strong focus on business and psychology. In 1989, they attended The College of St. Scholastica, where they studied psychology and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1993. Annette furthered their education by enrolling at the University of Minnesota in 1996, where they spent two years and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in the field of Business Administration in 1998.
