Ed W.

Ed W. has extensive work experience in the field of Linux system administration and infrastructure operations. Ed started their career at Telefonica Brasil in 2004 as a Linux Solaris Support Analyst, troubleshooting, configuring, and supporting hardware and software issues for Telefonica customers. After that, they worked as a Linux System Administrator at Vivax, providing support for Linux servers and broadband internet users.

In 2008, Ed joined Software Express Informática Ltda. as a Senior Linux Infrastructure Analyst, where they configured Dell PowerEdge servers and storages from multiple manufacturers. Ed also gained knowledge of HP Blade and EMC² storages and monitored VPNs and communication networks.

From 2012 to 2013, Ed worked as a Senior Linux Support Analyst at Mandic Cloud Solutions, where they operated and managed Linux/Windows cloud computing servers and hosting services. Ed also had experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Xen.

In 2013, Ed became a Team Leader at JCN Systems, managing teams responsible for infrastructure, database, systems development, telecom, and service desk. Ed also provided hands-on support for Linux servers in different environments and installed and configured web servers like Apache, WildFly, and Jboss.

From 2011 to 2017, Ed worked as the owner of e-HI Consulting, providing consulting services for companies and technology professionals in payment systems and Linux environments. Ed was responsible for Linux server administration, support, and management of middleware applications.

At HSBC in 2018, Ed took on the role of Linux System Engineer, where they administered and analyzed Red Hat Linux systems and worked on automating new environment servers and related releases.

From 2018 to 2021, Ed joined Best Buy Canada as a Technology Lead and later became a Senior Linux Infrastructure Analyst. In these roles, they provided management and guidance to a team of Unix/Linux DevOps/system administrators. Ed designed and defined standards, technologies, and orchestration for Linux products and was accountable for the management of various tools and platforms. Ed also ensured high availability, support, and scalability of the IT DevOps infrastructure.

Currently, Ed is working at ReadyMode as an Infrastructure Operations Manager, where they oversee the operations and management of infrastructure.

From 2013 to 2015, Ed W. attended Universidade Anhembi Morumbi and earned a degree in IT Management with a field of study in Information Technology. In 2014, they also attended Green and obtained a degree in IT Management with a field of study in IT Management.

Additionally, in 2011, Ed W. completed a CCNA Router/Switch course at Netts Treinamentos, focusing on Network and System Administration. In 2012, they obtained a Certificate in Information Technology from CDTC.

Ed W. further enhanced their educational background in 2017 by attending ISS Language & Career College of BC to improve their English language skills through a course in English as a Second Language.

Earlier in their education journey, in 2003, Ed W. pursued a course in Linux, specifically LPI 101 and 102, at Impacta Tecnologia. Lastly, in 1999 and 2000, they completed a course in Computer Operation and Maintenance at Senac, specializing in Information Technology.
