Apsana Kafle currently serves as an International Consultant at CIFOR, conducting research on global restoration commitments and collaborating on a large-scale dryland restoration project in the Asia-Pacific region. Apsana also holds a position on the Board of Trustees at RECOFTC, overseeing governance and contributing to community forestry initiatives. As the Head of the International Policy Commission for the International Forestry Students' Association, Apsana leads a global team and coordinates efforts in North America to promote forestry networking and capacity building. Previous experience includes a Research Assistant role at the University of Alberta, focusing on climate change impacts on boreal forests, and engagements with the World Bamboo Organization and International Bamboo and Rattan Organization. Apsana holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Tribhuvan University and a Master of Science in Forest Management from the University of Alberta.
