Benjamin Dougal

Benjamin Dougal, CPA has over 17 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. In 2004, they began their career as a Supplemental Instructor - Introduction to Probability and Statistics at Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2007, they moved to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a Lead Budget Analyst, where they developed monthly financial and headcount reports, interpreted legislative and departmental code, and reviewed and processed budget increases. In 2013, they became a Lab Instructor at The Ohio State University, where they conducted classroom demonstrations, guided students through case studies, and graded case assignments. In 2014, they joined Deloitte as an Audit Assistant, and was promoted to Senior Audit Assistant and Audit Senior. During their time at Deloitte, they performed complex audit procedures, audited balance sheets, and implemented Deloitte's risk assessment approach. In 2018, they joined Echo Global Logistics as a Senior Accountant, where they performed scoping and implementation of accounting changes, audited acquisition financials, and prepared monthly reconciliations. In 2019, they moved to Vivid Seats LLC as an Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Manager, where they managed the month-end close process, implemented a new OPEX accrual and prepaid process, and collaborated with FP&A, marketing, legal, and IT. In 2020, they joined Exicure as an Accounting Manager, and in 2022, they became the Controller at Reconstruct Inc.

Benjamin Dougal, CPA obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin between 2004 and 2007. Benjamin then attended Austin Community College from 2011 to 2012. In 2013 and 2014, they obtained their Master of Accounting from The Ohio State University. Prior to that, they attended Stephen F. Austin State University from 2003 to 2004. In June 2016, they obtained their Licensed Certified Public Accountant certification from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
