Xavier Tang

Xavier Tang began their work experience in 2005 at NCS Group as a Consultant in Security, where they worked until 2007. Xavier then joined DSTA in 2007 as an Information Assurance Engineer and held various roles including Senior Engineer, Project Manager, Acting Head of the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), and Senior Development Programme Manager (Cyber Intelligence) until 2021. In 2021, Tang joined Recorded Future as a Senior Sales Engineer.

Xavier Tang attended the National University of Singapore from 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a degree in Computing with a focus on Information Systems. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) in June 2006, followed by the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA in August 2008. Later, in November 2008, they achieved the GIAC Certified Forensics Analyst (GCFA) certification. Xavier then obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification in July 2011. In the following years, they acquired several other certifications, including Maltego from Paterva in July 2016, A Practical Approach to Malware Analysis and Memory Forensics from Black Hat in March 2017, and the Intelligence Analysis Course from IMSL - The Intelligence People in December 2017. Moreover, Xavier earned the AWS and Azure Exploitation: Making the Cloud Rain Shell certification from Black Hat in March 2019, and the Advanced Cyber Threat Intelligence certification from Cyber Services Plc in October 2019. Furthermore, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate 2020 certification by Udemy in December 2019. In the subsequent years, Xavier pursued various certifications, including ELK for Security Analysis from Applied Network Defense in April 2020, the Privacy Course from IntelTechniques in June 2020, Practical Threat Hunting from Applied Network Defense in July 2020, Open Source Intelligence Course from IntelTechniques in July 2020, Modern Web Scraping with Python using Scrapy Splash Selenium from Udemy in September 2020, and the Recorded Future Certified Analyst certification from Recorded Future in August 2021. Recently, in September 2022, Xavier obtained the SANS SEC587: Advanced OSINT Gathering and Analysis certification from the SANS Institute.
