Mariele Motta

Mariele Motta is a skilled researcher and data scientist with extensive experience in machine learning, data analysis, and cosmology. Currently, Mariele is a Recurser at Recurse Center, engaging in a programming retreat for self-directed programmers since November 2022. Previously, Mariele served as a Machine Learning Research Scientist at neurocat GmbH, focusing on the robustness and explainability of neural networks from October 2019 to November 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Data Scientist at smart digital GmbH, where Mariele developed machine learning applications to analyze user behavior, as well as a postdoctoral researcher at Université de Genève, conducting research in cosmology with a focus on statistical model testing and dynamical systems. Mariele also held a position as a Visiting Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, collaborating on forecasting gravity models. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas and a course in Applied Data Analysis from EPFL.
