Marco Derudas

Marco Derudas is a Senior Drug Designer at Recursion, a position held since November 2024. Prior to this role, Marco served as a Senior Drug Designer at Exscientia from September 2020 to November 2024. Marco's experience includes significant contributions as Project Leader and Research Fellow II in Medicinal Chemistry at Sussex Drug Discovery Centre, University of Sussex, where responsibilities encompassed leading early-phase oncology and neuroscience projects focused on drug discovery for various medical conditions. Earlier in the career, Marco was an MRC Research Fellow leading a team in the design of otoprotective agents and completed an academic internship at Cardiff University while also working as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant on synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry projects. Marco holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Cardiff University and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Sassari.
